Bappi Lahiri, who recently collaborated with American musicians Akon and Lady Gaga, is concerned for their well-being. “I haven’t had the chance to talk to them, but I hope they are doing well,” he says. The veteran singer-composer hasn’t had a chance to speak to Kanika Kapoor either, and is worried about her. Last week, the singer tested positive for Covid-19 (Coronavirus), soon after her return from London. “Before flying off to London, the last song she sung was for me, for the film Pyaar Mein Thoda Twist. She’s such a well-behaved and educated girl, I hope she gets well soon,” he avers.
The composer has written and composed a song for the world to join forces and contain the pandemic. He plans to record it over the next few days and release it on the social media. “I have a fully equipped studio right here in my living room. So, I don’t need to go anywhere,” Bappi da informs.
The song goes…
It’s a tough time...
Let’s not forget that we are all together in corona…
Potect yourself and people around you...
Listen to your doctor, please stay indoors,
Avoid public gatherings...
Use masks and sanitisers...
Be safe and cooperate with the government…”
It covers all the advisories issued to combat the deadly virus and Bappi da hopes it will become an anthem for people around the globe.
