Mirror (July 12) had earlier reported that Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor are filming the climax of their upcoming film, Street Dancer 3D, in the ongoing schedule in Mumbai. The duo will be seen competing against dance troupes from across the globe, including UK, Germany, Nepal and Africa. For this final face-off, the actor with the twinkletoes has been prepping hard to match steps with the international dancers at a studio in Mumbai. Mirror has now learnt that during an intense practice session for the Remo D’souza directorial, Varun has injured his knee.
“He’s been learning some really tough Bhangra moves along with other dance forms like Urban and Street hip-hop. On Tuesday, while rehearsing with Rahul Shetty, Dharmesh and Tashan from UK, he twisted his knee. But Varun being the professional that he is, refused to take a break. He simply had his left knee taped to support the muscles and carried on,” reveals a source from the rehearsals.
The practice sessions take place in Andheri for six hours a day. The shoot is in Malad. “It’s like a mock rehearsal of what they will be performing on camera,” the source added. The dance saga, produced by Bhushan Kumar and Remo’s wife, Lizelle D’souza, is in the last leg and expected to wrap up by July 25. In the film, Varun plays an Indian origin dancer who is born and brought up in London.
