Buzz in BTown has been strong that Sara Ali Khan is to feature with Kartik Aaryan in the sequel to Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal (2009). But, most of this conjecture came to light after Sara’s appearance on Karan Johar’s chat show, where, on a light note, she revealed that she would like to date Kartik. Sources in the industry have revealed to BT that Sara was never considered for the part. In fact, Kiara Advani has been offered the part opposite Kartik.

The source further adds that Imtiaz is directing the film and he wants the movie to be distinctly different from Love Aaj Kal. Kartik was first approached for Love Aaj Kal 2 and then, Kiara was also offered the other lead. The source claims that the film is still in scripting stage and Imtiaz is working closely on putting a modern spin on this love story.

BT reached out to Kiara Advani, but there was no response from the actress at the time of going to press.
