Shahid Kapoor, who shot his last film, Shree Narayan Singh’s social-drama Batti Gul Meter Chalu, in Tehri with leading lady Shraddha Kapoor, has gifted his makeshift gym to the hotel where they stayed during their shoot in Uttrakhand earlier this year. Unlike the usual practice of staying in five-star hotels while on location, the team put up at a quaint hotel with the bare necessities and no luxuries during their stay in the Garhwal district.

A source associated with the film reveals that Shahid who is a fitness freak needs to workout every day. “As this small hotel had no fitness facilities, he set up his own gym on the premises. His instructor had taken a lot of expensive equipment from Mumbai and set them up in a room. Besides Shahid, other actors and crew members also made good use of this ‘gym’. A day before they packed up, the hotel guys requested Shahid to leave his gym equipment behind for them and other guests and he agreed instantly knowing his gift would help the establishment,” adds the source. Interestingly, while on location and owing to limited sources of recreation, Shahid would also go for fishing in-between breaks from work and gym sessions.
