MUMBAI MIRROR (September 19, 2018)

Rumour mills have been abuzz with reports of an impending collaboration among Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur on Sadak 2. On Tuesday, their presence at Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s Mumbai office, in colour-coordinated all-black, all but confirmed it.

The trio was spotted arriving at the Bhatt’s Khar office around 5 pm and stayed put for over an hour. According to sources, the actors have kicked off work on the sequel of the 1991 romantic-thriller that had featured Pooja Bhatt, who is reportedly a part of the sequel as well, and Sanjay, as leads. “The discussion mostly revolved around the script and the prep which is slated to begin shortly. While the entire team has been tight-lipped about the project, an official announcement is expected on Mahesh Bhatt’s 70th birthday on September 20,” informs a source close to the development.

The 1991 film, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, revolved around a taxi driver (played by Sanjay) who falls in love with a woman forced into prostitution (Pooja) and takes on her pimp (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) to rescue her. Mirror had earlier reported (November 3) that Sanjay is set to return as the original protagonist Ravi, and will be joined by a young couple, played by Alia and Aditya.
