Mirror has learnt that after directing Kajol in Helicopter Eela, Pradeep Sarkar is gearing up to make a film titled Arranged Marriage featuring Patralekhaa, which will be a part of an anthology. The actress will kick off the film’s 10-day schedule by the month-end.
“I got a call from dada’s office informing that he wanted to meet me. I am not sure if he has seen my work, but I am a big fan of his films. His Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt-starrer Parineeta is my all-time favourite. So, when he narrated the script, I was really excited to be a part of his vision,” informs Patralekhaa, who made her debut opposite steady beau Rajkummar Rao in Hansal Mehta’s Citylights in 2014.
Arranged Marriage takes the actress back to Kolkata where she shot for a show based on Subhas Chandra Bose. “I play a Bengali girl in the film and since I am one in real life too, it will come naturally to me. It’s lovely to go back to my roots and be a part of the Kolkata culture,” the actress beams.
Ask her if she believes in arranged marriage and Patralekhaa says, “I don’t, I was never keen on the idea. That said, it’s more of a ‘to each their own’ thing.”
