The makers of the upcoming Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold are all set to celebrate independent India’s first gold medal victory at the 1948 Olympics with grandeur. On this historic day, August 12, India as a free nation bagged its first Olympic gold on British soil. For the first time in 70 years, the day will be celebrated with grandeur and pride, as iconic venues across the country will be turning ‘gold’, to honour this landmark event and the Indian hockey team that created history.
Venues like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai, Magarpatta City in Pune, Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Statue Circle in Jaipur, JK Temple in Kanpur, Prinsep Ghat in Kolkata and a few other venues will shine in gold, 7 pm onwards today.
Gold, directed by Reema Kagti, releases on August 15.
