Rumour mills are rife that Huma Qureshi is set to reunite with her Viceroy's House director Gurinder Chadha for the six-part India-set television series Beecham House, which will air in the UK.

Earlier this year, news emerged about Chadha working on her passion project, which revolves around British soldier, John Beecham, who attempts to escape his past of profiteering with the East India Company by acquiring a mansion in 19th century Delhi. The mansion, however, harbours dark secrets that unfold as the series progresses. The story also unfolds at a time when the 1,000-year-old Mughal rule is over and the British vie with the Maharajas to claim India as their own.

While the role that Qureshi has been cast for is unknown, it is suggested that she plays an Indian princess. A source informs, "If the deal goes through, Huma will headline the show. She has been appreciated for her performance in Viceroy's House and shares a great equation with the filmmaker. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the she has been approached for the TV show. She is an ideal fit for this author-backed role. Her physicality suits the part."

The shoot, we're told, is schedule to commence at the end of this month. The actor is apparently working on chalking out her dates, post which she is expected to sign on the dotted line. mid-day reached out to Qureshi's team, which refused to comment. Written by Chadha, Paul Mayeda Berges, Shahrukh Husain and Victor Levin, the series will be filmed in India as it eyes a 2019 release on ITV.
