Six years after they first shared screen space in Prakash Jha's Chakravyuh, Esha Gupta and Arjun Rampal will put their crackling chemistry on display again in Paltan. Gupta will slip into the role of Rampal's wife.

The latter, we hear, will play the prominent character of a Lieutenant Colonel in J P Dutta's war drama. Set to join the unit for the Mumbai schedule today, Gupta says, "The film's publicist, who also happens to be my publicist, spoke to me about this role a while ago. It's an honour to be working with Dutta sir. His love for the country, and passion for cinema, is evident in his films."

Gupta's agent, she reveals, was of the opinion that she could play a character from the '60s with ease, an essential given that the film is based during the Indian-Sino war of 1962.
