Three years after they shared screen space in Shoojit Sircar’s
much loved comedy-drama Piku, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan are
gearing up to start work on their second project together. Mirror has
learnt that Vishal Bhardwaj’s yet-untitled film, which was previously to
be directed by Honey Trehan, goes on floors next month and is produced
by T Series, Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures and KriArj Entertainment.
Prernaa Arora of Kriarj Entertainment told Mirror, “Vishal sir is on
the recce currently and the shooting for the film will kick-start on
March 5 in Nepal.”Meanwhile, a source close to the development revealed that Irrfan is scheduled to meet Vishal next week to discuss details before the film gets off the ground.
While reports suggested that the film is based on the life of mafia queen Rahima Khan aka Sapna Didi and is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, Prernaa clarified that the film is a work of fiction.
“This film is not a biopic. Vishal sir is directing a fictional thriller that deals with the topic of revenge,” the filmmaker signed off.
