Actress-host Shibani Dandekar will reprise the role of Vijayalakshmi played by actress Lisa Haydon in the Telugu and Malayalam remakes of Vikas Bahl’s 2014 dramedy Queen.
Earlier, Amy Jackson was to play the role in all the four southern versions but dropped out over creative differences and non-availability of dates. Elli AvrRam has been cast in the Tamil and Kannada remakes.
The makers of the films are starting their first schedule in France with Tamannaah Bhatia, Kajal Aggarwal, Manjima Mohan and Parul Yadav in the title role.
The film will be sequentially shot at various locations with a tinge of southern flavour. The Hindi version featured Kangana Ranaut as Rani, a homely girl who after her wedding is called off, decides to go on her honeymoon alone. Travelling around Europe, she finds joy, makes friends and gains new-found independence.
