Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty may not have teamed up for a film yet but the duo will soon come together for a yet untitled TV reality show for aspiring actors. The winners will be rewarded with a three-film deal with KJo’s production house and an opportunity to be launched by the filmmaker.

A source close to the development told Mirror, “The two winners will be rewarded with a three-film deal with Karan’s production house. Auditions are on at the moment and around 30 contestants will be shortlisted for the show which goes on air early next year and will be telecast through the week.”

The source adds that the team is planning a different format for weekdays and one for the weekend, details of which are being planned currently. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has also been roped in for the show. A hunt is on for the hosts.

Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty are coming together to judge a new talent hunt tentatively titled India's Next Superstar that will scout for talent from among commoners. The show on the lines of India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj is the hunt for aspiring actors and tests the contestants on their acting, dancing, drama and comedy skills.

Says a source, "Casting director Mukesh Chhabra will be the one who will choose the talent that will come on the show. The contestants will be staying together under one roof. They will be given different tasks and will be rated on the basis of their acting skills. It will most probably be a daily show and weekends will have the gala round, which will be mainly judged by Karan and Rohit. Also, every week A-List actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are expected to appear as guest judges. The winners - one boy and one girl - will get to star in a Karan Johar film, that will either be a musical or romcom."

The show is slated to go on air in January next year.
