After having won accolades for her Tamil romance-drama, Kaatru Veliyidai (2016), Aditi Rao Hydari is now looking forward to her Bollywood outings, which will see her collaborate with two of the biggest names in the industry. She acknowledges her “good fortune” for bagging the opportunity to collaborate with Sanjay Dutt in Bhoomi, and Ranveer Singh in Padmavati.
The industry rarely explores the relationship between a father and daughter, which makes her next, alongside her on-screen parent Dutt, special, she says. That the bond she shares with him in the film has extended off screen too is discernable when she expresses her joy over the attention Dutt has been receiving during the promotions. “He deserves all of it. I am also putting the spotlight on him.” she says, further heaping praise on his acting prowess. “He is effortless and doesn’t believe in rehearsals.”
Next up, she will be seen in Padmavati as wife to Ranveer Singh, with whom she first collaborated several years ago. “The first time I worked with him was in Paris, when we were jobless. We performed in a show directed by Shaad Ali, and choreographed by Saroj Khan. He is affectionate, encouraging and generous. At the same time, he is a complete entertainer. It’s shocking to see the amount of energy he has. He can work non-stop and still be calm and happy.”
