While his next big screen outing, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed Padmavati, is inching closer to its November 17 date with the box-office, Ranveer Singh is headed for a short stint on the small screen. The actor will host the first episode of Ramdev's devotional music reality show, Om Shanti Om, which has Sonakshi Sinha, Kanika Kapoor and Shekhar Ravjiani as judges while the yoga guru will be a 'maha judge'. With its contestants singing bhajans set to contemporary tunes, the show aims to acquaint the younger generation with devotional songs. A source associated with the show told Mirror, “Ranveer has been roped in for the shubhaarambh episode, after which Aparshakti Khurrana will take over as host. The actor will open the show by performing on the 'Gajanana' song from his last Bhansali film, Bajirao Mastani. He will also be introducing the show's 14 contestants.“

Om Shanti Om goes on air on Life OK which has been rechristened Star Bharat. Sonakshi and Ramdev had earlier appeared together for an episode of the dance reality show Nach Baliye.

MEANWHILE...CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE
On the first day of the shoot of the music reality show earlier this month, Sonakshi reported for work at peace with the world. But her smile wilted when she arrived on the set to find co-judge Shekhar Ravjiani already seated in her preferred spot. The actress, we are told, likes to sit in the middle and made her wish apparent. But for once, the composer refused to budge. Caught in the middle of their laughing disagreement, the unit waited and waited for the camera to roll. It finally did, after an hour or two, after Sonakshi was solemnly promised that the next time, he will move to the side. And the relieved unit was finally crooning, “Om Shanti Om“ to themselves.

Sonakshi's spokesperson said, “Shekhar and Sonakshi know each other very well and share a great rapport. They keep pulling each other's leg at the shoot.“
