MOM (Hindi) showed a little upturn in business on Tuesday as collections in Mumbai circuit jumped due to Gujarat. The film collected in the 2.50-2.75 crore nett range. There is a festival in Gujarat for ladies (Gauri Vrat) which helps collections as shows in the afternoon record high occupancy. MOM being a film for ladies is getting extra benefit. The figures in North are low but steady.

The film is going to be dependent on what happens on its second Friday and especially how well Mumbai and South can hold as that is where the film is going to do its best business. The collections of MOM for the first five days are as follows.

Saturday  - 5,00,00,000
Sunday - 6,25,00,000
Monday - 2,25,00,000
Tuesday - 2,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 19,25,00,000

The first week of the film should cross 23 crore nett which is the same range as HINDI MEDIUM (23.25 crore nett).

MOM had a low first week of 23.50 crore nett which is similar to what HINDI MEDIUM grossed a month or so back and the trend of MOM on weekdays was decent but it remains to be seen if it can follow through into the second week. It has competition with JAGGA JASOOS but that is unlikely to take that killer opening to affect the run of MOM. Also, MOM has a screen at major multiplexes which will be enough for it to collect well. The bigger problem is the film has not been appreciated in Delhi /NCR/Punjab and its the multiplexes here that tend to hold well and take the likes of PINK and HINDI MEDIUM to good final totals. The film is dependent on Mumbai, South and West Bengal and these places will have to be very good on day eight for the film to pull through.
