MOM had a low opening of 3 crore nett apprx in Hindi though these numbers are better than ENGLISH VINGLISH which opened in the 2.25 crore nett range in 2012. HINDI MEDIUM released in May had taken an opening of 2.50 crore but managed to pick up well and eventually score at the box office. The opening of MOM is actually much better than HINDI MEDIUM as that had a tax exemption in Maharashtra from day one so its gross figures are less at 3.20 crore against the 4 crore of MOM.

The film will be hoping to have the same trajectory of HINDI MEDIUM or something close to it but tax exemptions and lesser connect in the North will probably come in the way. The film should grow well on Saturday but unless the growth is phenomenal it will remain a low weekend and then it will be about the film coming into its own in the weekdays.

MOM (Hindi) showed huge growth of around 65% on its second day as it grossed a decent 4.75 crore nett. The growth is more on Saturday than HINDI MEDIUM released a few weeks back. Though it has to be noted that MOM does have a wider release than that film. The film doubled its collections in many multiplexes across the country. The weekend is still going to remain low but the trend is there for the film to make up ground over the weekdays. The Saturday growth is the best seen this year out of all the main releases. The collections of MOM for the first two days are as follows.

Saturday  - 4,75,00,000
TOTAL - 7,75,00,000

The film is scoring very well in Mumbai circuit with the circuit contributing around 45%. The film is actually a Delhi based though the film has a feel of a Mumbai film. If North India was to come on board over the weekdays for this film then it will do good business and have a good 3-4 week run.

MOM (Hindi) had a good trend over the weekend as it grew very well on Saturday and consolidated on Sunday with collections of 6.25-6.50 crore nett. The weekend is low at 14 crore nett plus but the weekend trend gives it a chance to score over the weekdays. HINDI MEDIUM released a few weeks back had grossed 11.79 crore nett with a tax exemptions in Maharashtra but on lesser screens.

It is a film that is mainly doing well in the five big metros (Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata and Bangalore) and it will be about how well these can hold from Monday onward. The collections of MOM for the first weekend are as follows.

Sunday - 6,25,00,000
TOTAL - 14,25,00,000

The target for these films is always for the Monday collections to be somewhere around the Friday collection and this ensures a good run. If the film holds well on weekdays, the issue it will face is a a big release every week for the next few weeks.
