Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora's divorce proceedings were concluded last noon at Bandra's Family Court, putting an end to their 18-year-old marriage. Apparently, the couple arrived in the same car, though their family members were not spotted with them. Their lawyers, Kranti Sathe and Amruta Sathe-Pathak, confirmed that the couple's divorce proceedings were completed amicably. They looked at ease while leaving the court premises. The couple was seen together a day prior at the D Y Patil Stadium in Nerul, attending the Justin Bieber concert with their son Arhaan. They had applied for divorce by mutual consent in December 2016 and the date had been set for May 11. They were granted divorce on the completion of their six-month cooling-off period. Sources at the court claim that the custody of their 14-year-old son has been given to Malaika, while Arbaaz can visit him whenever he wants.

Over the last 24 months, the couple's relationship has been through several twists. The cracks in Arbaaz and Malaika's marriage came to the fore in early 2016, after which everyone in the Khan and Arora families, including Salman Khan, reportedly tried to mediate and help the couple reconcile. However, they officially applied for divorce, putting all conjectures about the fate of their relationship to rest. But for the last few months, while they had been going through counselling sessions, buzz was that they were planning to give their relationship another chance.

Even after filing for divorce, the couple was often seen together with their son and their respective families at dinners and parties, looking at ease in each other's presence. After the divorce, hearsay is that they will continue to work together and are likely to co-produce Dabangg 3.
