Sridevi is making a comeback with Mom, five years after English Vinglish hit theatres, and the makers don’t want her to be pitted against current stars. With three big releases lined up in July, the thriller drama’s release date has been advanced by a week — to July 7. With this, Mom will avert a box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos, as also Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar biopic and Saif Ali Khan’s Chef, which are all vying for the July 14 slot.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor, Mom also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles. A R Rahman has scored the music for the film.

Sridevi will, however, have to compete with American superhero film, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
