Reema Kagti’s biopic Gold based on hockey legend Balbir Singh (played by Akshay Kumar) will have a 11-member hockey team.

Says a source, “While Sunny Kaushal has been finalised as one of the players, Reema is very keen that Farhan Akhtar plays another member. It will be a special appearance as Akshay has the meatiest role being the striker, captain and later coach, but the film is being produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan and Reema has asked the latter’s sister Zoya to persuade him. Farhan has heard the story and his role and thinking about it. He is currently shooting for Lucknow Central and can only shoot for Gold in April so they are still working out the dates.”
