Shah Rukh Khan has agreed to act in Nikhil Dwivedi’s co-production with Videocon’s Anirudh Dhoot. Shares a source, “SRK is very close to Videocon owner Venugopal Dhoot and his family and has also been their brand ambassador for years. It was even reported that Videocon had partly financed Asoka. He is almost like family to them. Naturally, he would be part of their first production which is being handled by Venugopal’s son Anirudh.”

Meanwhile, Nikhil and SRK have been friends for almost two decades and naturally he has approached the star to act in his production. Nikhil, who has worked in Dhoot’s company in the past, took the action-thriller-drama, to the star and he agreed to come on board. The source adds that Nikhil has been told not to talk about the project till everything is finalised. “Nikhil is leaving it to Videocon to handle everything including the announcement. The project is expected to begin next year.”
