DANGAL put up a huge Saturday of 34 crore nett  taking its two day total to 63 crore nett plus. The growth of the film on Saturday is a little under 20% compared to Friday. More important than the growth is that it grew very well in areas that were comparatively lower on Friday. Mumbai circuit grew around 30% as Gujarat/Saurashtra picked up from low levels on Friday. This is a plus for the long term business of the film. Also circuits which normally drop on day two of a big release Like CP, CI manage to grow around 5-10% which is also a plus for the film. The dubbed version also increased collections but they are still very low. The two day business of DANGAL (Hindi) is as follows.
Friday - 29,14,00,000
Saturday 34,00,00,000
TOTAL - 63,14,00,000 apprx

The numbers are around 10 crore nett below the other blockbuster of the year Sultan but that was in a holiday period of over the first first two days.
-------------------------------
DANGAL had a fantastic weekend of around 104.25 crore nett apprx helped by an extraordinary Sunday (Christmas Day) where it smashed all box office records to record the highest single day ever and be the first film to go over 40 crore nett in a single day. The film showed excellent growth on Sunday of around 20% as being a big national day it was slightly better than a normal Sunday but the film would have benefited more if Christmas Day had fallen on any other day especially a weekday. Despite setting a national record it was still not the highest collection ever in Mumbai as the first day of PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO was bigger and so was the third day of PK but in the North it smashed records by leaps and bounds. The weekend business of DANGAL (Hindi) is as follows.
Friday - 29,14,00,000
Saturday 34,00,00,000
Saturday - 41,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,04,39,00,000 apprx

The film is a blockbuster and  it is down to the weekdays as to how big of a blockbuster the film becomes. There are no official holidays in the weekdays but it is a very good period for collections between Christmas and the New Year which gives DANGAL a chance to rack big numbers till next Sunday.

The film also released in Tamil and Telugu and the collections are not impressive at all though the Tamil version showed a good trend from low levels so that may hold up well for a couple of weeks. The Telugu version is very poor.
