While Ranveer Singh who plays Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period-drama, Padmavati, had begun shooting for the film earlier this month, leading lady Deepika Padukone who essays the titular role kicked off her schedule on Wednesday with a song sequence in the Rajasthani dance style, ghoomar.

On Wednesday, while the Bajirao Mastani filmmaker was shooting for his ambitious project, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt dropped in on the well-guarded set in Mehboob studio to catch up. “SRK and Alia were promoting Dear Zindagi when they found out that Sanjay and Deepika were shooting in the vicinity. They met for a while and spoke about their films,” informs the source.
