Shahid Kapoor says he is
looking forward to working with Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela
Bhansali's period drama Padmavati. He is playing the role of Raja
Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler and husband of Rani Padmavati played by
Deepika. Ranveer Singh will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the Delhi Sultan
who falls in love with the queen.
“I will start shooting for Padmavati in a couple of weeks. It's an amazing honour to work with Bhansaliji. I love his films and I think he is a fantastic filmmaker. I am very excited with the role he has offered me. This is the first time that Deepika and I will be working together which is great. This is the first time Ranveer and I will be working together, which is great too,“ asserted the actor who recently wrapped up Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon, which also features Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut.
The 35-year-old actor believes he is in an “amazing phase“ professionally, working with two great directors back-to-back. “Padmavati is a really big film and a challenging one as an actor. After working with Vishal Bhardwaj, working with Bhansali is an amazing place to be. I feel very fortunate,“ he exulted.
