Next year Nikkhil Advani will get rolling with his next directorial which explores terrorism and patriotism

Nikkhil Advani's finite TV
series, P.O.W: Bandi Yuddh Ke, an adaptation of the Israeli drama
Hatufim which inspired the American hit Homeland, has sparked off plenty
of excitement with its first trailer which was unveiled last week. It
will kick off next year and the filmmaker admits that once he is done
with the shooting and the post production, which should be sometime in
January, he will rewrite parts of Bazaar which revolves around two men
with the stock market in the background.
“It is about ambition, money, power and the underbelly of the city and by underbelly I don't mean Dharavi and the mafia. The real debauchery happens on the 50th floor of high-rises where Rs 100 crore business deals are struck,“ Nikkhil had told Mirror (November 28, 2015) in an earlier interview.
Before Bazaar Nikkhil will roll with another film whose script is ready. “It's in the same genre as D-Day, in the terrorism and patriotism space which I enjoy,“ he admitted more recently. It's a thriller on the Indian Mujahideen which D-Day writer Ritesh Shah has scripted.
Besides these two films he is also producing two other films for two capable young directors who he jokes will hopefully do a far better job than him. There's been a lot of buzz about Ranjit Tiwari's Lucknow Central set against the backdrop of the jail with music at its core. It is inspired by a true story of convicts sentenced to life in the Lucknow Central Jail who start a band and discover pride, self confidence and a reason to wake up every morning. It features Farhan Akhtar and Kriti Sanon among others.
Another assistant, Gaurav Chawla, gets his break with Uchhaiyan which is about climbing the Everest. It's an India-Pakistan story set in 1950 and could be fact or fantasy. “It's a story nobody told you and though one doesn't know for sure, it could have happened. It is about the Everest's conquest before Edmund Hillary and we have to climb the Everest for it. I've climbed enough mountains in my life,“ Nikkhil laughs, adding that the film will roll sometime next summer.
The story has been penned by Saiwyn Quadras and he is currently finishing the screenplay. Saiwyn had written Mary Kom and Neerja earlier and after the latter Nikkhil wanted to work with him and suggested a war novel his sister had read. “That's when Saiwyn told us he had another story and as soon as I heard it, I told him we'd do it.“
Will it have A-listers? “Hopefully, we have spoken to some actors and waiting for the final script to start casting,“ he signs off.
