The curiosity around Shoojit Sircar's Pink steadily risen after the first trailer was launched a few weeks ago. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the thriller showcases a thrilling and realistic courtroom drama centered around Amitabh Bachchan and Piyush Mishra.

A glimpse of the battle of wits between the megastar and Mishra, seen in the trailer, has the viewers eagerly anticipating the way it'd play out in the movie. Shoojit and Piyush go back a long time. The multi-talented actor (a theatre veteran, a scriptwriter, lyricist, composer and singer) has known Shoojit for years.

Says the filmmaker, “Piyush is one of my oldest theatre friends. He's one of the best creative artistes with great command over the language. He even wrote the dialogue for my debut film Yahaan. And this time, he happened to be the perfect fit for the character in Pink.“

All praises for his co-actor, Bachchan says, “I have been admiring Piyushji's work in various films. I have had great regard for him as an artiste of immense caliber. Working with him in Pink was a first for me, and I hope not the last. His performance in the film is phenomenal, but his love and interest in literature and poetry is what made my association with him special.“

Pink, presented by Rashmi Sharma Films and produced by Rising Sun Films, releases on September 16.
