The pregnant actress is asking to be excused from the film, citing health issues

Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is all set to deliver her firstborn in December, was to begin shoot for Veere Di Wedding next month. But now the actress wants to wiggle out of the project. This has sent producers Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor scurrying for options. It is learnt that Bebo wants out because she is in her second trimester and isn’t feeling good health-wise.

Adds the source, “Bebo has already had a word with producer Rhea and shared her fears. While she was looking forward to shooting, she hadn’t anticipated morning sickness, fatigue and other pregnancy-related conditions. There are some days she is not in a condition to get out of bed, and the actress feels that by the time the film goes on the floor next month, she may or may not feel better. She doesn’t want to put Rhea and Ekta in a fix. The film has to be completed in two months, and if the actress is advised bedrest (like her doctor has warned), the shooting will get stalled.”

Says the insider, “Also, once she begins shoot for the film, the producers will have no choice but to wait for her and she doesn’t want them to incur losses because of her. At this stage, even though it is late, they can replace her without any losses. Yes, it will be a headache to hunt for a leading lady of Bebo’s stature at the last minute, but it’s better than having the film stalled.”

Meanwhile, Rhea and Ekta are in a fix. They are not sure whether to try and convince Bebo to go ahead or replace her immediately. The decision will be taken in the next few days. Watch this space.
