While grapevine has been abuzz with news of Ranveer Singh reuniting with his Bajirao Mastani director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for the period drama, Padmavati, the actor on Monday refused to comment on his involvement in the project. Word is, Bhansali got irritated when the actor asked for a bound script and decided not to sign him. When quizzed about it recently, Ranveer said, “Right now I'm not in a position to comment on any of my films (referring to Padmavati). As soon as I know I will be the first person to inform you (media).“ He was quick to clarify, “My relationship with Bhansali is good. He has a beautiful smile“.

The film features Deepika Padukone as queen Padmavati while Ranveer is reported to be playing Allauddin Khilji who, obsessed with the queen's beauty, wages a war against her kingdom to bring her to his harem. Shahid Kapoor is said to be in contention to play Padmavati's husband, Raja Ratan Singh.
