As reported earlier, the teaser of filmmaker Karan Johar's Diwali release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM), starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, releases today. There's also more in store as the audio of the film, composed by Pritam Chakraborty, will be out simultaneously.

Karan, who has previously collaborated with Pritam for his home production, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), is excited about collaborating with the bespectacled composer on this directorial venture. He says, “I'm always excited about working with Pritam. The six months I spent with him were the best months I've ever spent musically. Listening to all kinds of melodies was an enriching experience. Now, I'm looking forward to everyone listening to the music, which is the emotion and the soul of my film.“

In the romantic saga, Ranbir plays an aspiring singer who comes from an illustrious family. A large part of the narrative traces the journey of his character and how music rounds things up for him emotionally. Revealing that the title track is one of his favourites, the filmmaker says, “I am very attached to the song just like the title track of Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which will always be a breath in my career graph. The title song of ADHM also features in the film's teaser. Hence, the synergy with the simultaneous audio of the movie.“

Talking about the film's date with theatres during the festival of lights, Karan says, “Diwali is a time of love, celebration and family. The music and content of our film synchronises beautifully with this period.“

Interestingly, B-Town's favourite filmmaker is also buoyed by the buzz the movie is generating, what with reports of connecting it to his own Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and even the Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh-Raakhee-starrer Doosra Aadmi (1977). He admits, “I'm excited by this conjecture, which means that our film is important and it matters. But ADHM is a story of the feeling of love... it's all that is.“ He adds, “There is no angle of infidelity or another man. In today's times of technology, the film reminds you about the power of love and emotions.“

Arijit Singh, who has rendered the title track, says, “Rarely does a song come along that has intense romance, pain and passion. The title track of ADHM is just that. I can say with great confidence that this is one of the best songs of my career.“

The teaser and the audio will be live simultaneously on audio streaming platforms and apps.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, produced by Dharma Productions, releases on October 28.
