Sania Mirza has some
enviable friends in Bollywood. Now, the 29-year-old tennis ace has
enlisted three of them to launch her upcoming autobiography Ace
Against Odds penned by her and her father, Imran Mirza. The book
chronicles the Hyderabad girl's journey to becoming the World No 1 in
the women's doubles rankings, along with lesser known aspects of her
sporting career and personal life.
A source close to Sania revealed to Mirror, “Salman Khan will launch the book in Mumbai on July 17, while Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in for the Hyderabad unveiling on July 13. Parineeti Chopra, one of Sania's closest friends from the Hindi film industry, will be the special guest at the Delhi event on July 15. Sania and Parineeti took off to Goa for a vacation last year and the former recently revealed that she'd like Pari to play her should there be a biopic on her life.“
Other close friends from the industry, including filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan, are expected to attend the event. The book is already on the stands. Sania made a sterling comeback between August 2015 and March 2016, after announcing her retirement from the singles circuit. She clocked 41 consecutive wins with her doubles partner, the Swiss tennis star, Martina Hingis, and ascended to the top seed.
One of the highest paid athletes in the country today, Sania married Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik in April, 2010.
