Alia Bhatt on keeping her love life private and away from the public glare
Upala KBR (DNA; July 6, 2016)
Alia Bhatt is forthcoming on almost every subject
except her linkups. That always brings her guard up and she is reluctant
to open up about dating and being in love. Coming from a family where
her father Mahesh Bhatt and sister Pooja Bhatt never shied away from
talking about their personal life, what makes her different?
Alia confesses, “I don’t think there is any rule about what needs to happen or anything else. There are people who are very open about their personal life but guarded about other opinions. I’m one of those people who wants to say something for myself. I will give you a piece of cake but I will also keep a piece for myself. That piece has to be my personal life because I am a very sensitive person. If there are reports that I have broken up and if it’s true, it would really bother me. I could brood about it for days.”
Alia adds that not talking about it is her way of shielding herself from further pain. “Keeping my personal life away from the public glare just saves me from any further damage. It’s more a way of caution rather than getting hurt. I feel when you start talking about it, your entire life revolves around that. I don’t want it to come in the limelight for that. I admit that it does happen by default but I am here to work and be known as an actor and not someone who has a happening personal life.”
