While it's common to see heroes playing saviours on screen, here's an incident where the leading actor rushed to rescue his leading lady off screen. Akshay Kumar literally proved to be the knight in shining armour for his co-star Ileana D'Cruz while they were shooting a horse-riding scene for their upcoming film, Rustom.

The incident happened in London where they were filming outdoors. Things went awry when all of a sudden, Ileana's horse got out of control. Fortunately, Akki, who was riding alongside, quickly got off and grabbed the reins. Walking along and patting the animal, the superstar managed to calm it within minutes.

While Ileana heaved a sigh of relief, the way the scene had played out, it prompted filmmaker Neeraj Pandey to retain it in the final cut, which added a romantic touch to it.
