After hosting Bollywood A-listers, from Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, Kapil Sharma recently had an elusive guest on an upcoming episode of his TV show. When A R Rahman turned up on The Kapil Sharma Show, the maestro belted out some of his hits on popular demand, and having heard about the comedian-actor's singing prowess, asked him to croon something. Initially reluctant, it took a little bit of egging on to have Kapil burst into a Punjabi folk song, "Heer". "The Mozart of Madras was impressed and promised to work with Kapil on an assignment soon," a source from the sets informed Mirror.
After lending his voice to a song for his big screen debut, Kis Kisko Pyar Karun, Kapil has been keeping his playback track up-to-date too. In February this year, he recorded a soulful number, "Akhiyan De Taare" for the Punjabi film, Love Punjab. After the unexpected offer from Rahman, an elated Kapil said, "I love singing and am truly humbled that a maestro like Rahman appreciated my vocal skills. It was very sweet of him to offer me a song."
Wonder if a chance appearance by a leading filmmaker next will get Kapil a Bollywood biggie too!
