2016 might see three of the biggest biopics being made on three of India’s biggest cricketing legends. Azhar is already out, the MS Dhoni biopic and the Sachin Tendulkar documentary are ready to hit screens. And now, a film is being planned on Kapil Dev.

“It’s not entirely a film on Kapil’s life, so to say. It’s more about the 1983 World Cup where India was victorious and how Kapil, the captain lead the team to triumph. But there will be flashes of his life too but that won’t be the epicentre of the film,” a khabri from the production told us.

Arjun Kapoor has been approached to play the legendary cricketer. The source reveals, “It’s true that Arjun has been offered the role. He will sit for a narration and then decide whether he will take it up.” The actor has been flooded with offers and will pick his next film only soon. Currently, Arjun is filming the Half Girlfriend adaptation and will start Mubarakan post that.
