Thithi is a Kannada film that has created waves at various film festivals around the world (including Mumbai Film Festival) and also won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada. It was released with English subtitles outside Karnataka in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune and Chennai on Friday June 3, 2016. Thithi is to 2016 what Court was to 2015 and Ship Of Theseus to 2013! Eregowda and director Raam Reddy come up with a very interesting storyline and Raam has executed it beautifully. The film has its share of humour, tragedy, madness and it's all incorporated seamlessly and convincingly. Most importantly, it brings freshness as not even once does the film give a been-there-done-that kind of a feeling. It's IMPOSSIBLE to believe that all the performers in the film are non-actors. Channegowda rocks the show as Gadappa with his looks and performance. Thammegowda, Abhishek H. N. and Pooja S. M. too do a very fine job. Singri Gowda leaves a tremendous mark in just one scene as Century Gowda. If Thithi has released in your city or gets released (it is expected to play in more cities in the forthcoming weeks), do give it a chance - it deserves it!
My rating - **** out of 5
