Ram Gopal Varma is fiercely unapologetic about being ‘appreciative’ of BJP MLA Angoorlata Deka’s beauty

Ram Gopal Varma’s comments on Twitter about Angoorlata Deka, the newly elected BJP MLA from Assam have got people up in arms over its supposedly sexist nature.
He says he saw her pics and ‘appreciatively’ tweeted, “If MLA can look like this, achche din aagaye hai.” Defending the tweet, RGV said, “My comment on MLA Angoorlataji was a compliment on her looks. What’s wrong with complimenting a woman on her beauty?”
Ramu feels politicians, by and large, do not deserve to be complimented for their looks. “Most MLAs look so bad. Not that they need to look good, but Angoorlataji’s looks came as a surprise to me,” he added.
In fact, Mrs Deka’s looks have got the filmmaker potentially leaning towards politics. He says, “I don’t know anything about politics nor am I interested in it, but if there are beautiful or handsome politicians, I might start loving politics as much as films.”
He shrugs off those trolling him, remarking, “I was always a kind of a wild horse — very impulsive and fast. If I try to control my wildness, I am sure I will lose my uniqueness. So, I just worked towards steering my thoughts, instead of stopping them. I don’t care who likes me because I only care about who and what I like. I am okay with being hated.”
