Post the release of Nishikant Kamat’s Madaari, Irrfan Khan will be seen in the Hollywood film — Ron Howard’s Inferno, which opens worldwide on October 14. The actor will be taking off for a global promotional spree of the film from the middle of September.

Irrfan has not signed a single film after Madaari to ensure there is a clear window for the promotion of Inferno. Says Irrfan, “This is one of the reasons why I’ve kept a clean slate in the second half of this year. There are many major events being planned around the release of Inferno. In fact, I already have the details of the Singapore premiere. The other promotional events are being planned.”

About Indian people’s fear that his role in Inferno may not be substantial, Irrfan protests, “I do not share these misgivings. I have not seen the film, so I don’t know the length of my role. But I am not concerned with the mathematics of the footage. I am looking at the experience in its totality. Inferno was an experience of a lifetime. I got to work with Tom Hanks, which was an incredible learning curve in my career.”
