The first schedule of Arjun Rampal's Arun Gawli biopic, Daddy, kicked off in Versova village recently (Mirror, April 15) with an elaborate set to resembled the Dagdi chawl. Now, we hear the film will focus on the lesser known aspects of the gangster's life, including his marriage to Zubeida Mujawar (who later changed her name to Asha Gawli).
A source from the sets reveals, "The team recently shot a confrontational scene where Arjun's character informs his family of his decision to marry outside his community. Among the other sequences shot were the 1992 Mumbai riots. The scenes show Gawli providing shelter and food to the victims. The world knows him as a gangster but the film also focuses on his compassionate side," the source adds.
Arjun is currently shooting for Kahaani 2 on the outskirts of Kolkata. Work on Daddy is expected to resume by the third week of May.
