Freida Pinto will attend the 69th Cannes International Film Festival (May 11-May 21) to launch the first project of a non-profit production company which focuses on women empowerment in the entertainment industry.

Freida is one of the members of the advisory board, which also includes names like Jessica Chastain, Juliette Binoche, Queen Latifah, and filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke.

The Slumdog Millionaire actress will be a part of the gala on May 15 to announce the first project of the all-women company.

The organisation also participated at the United Nations Third Annual Power of Collaboration Global Summit in February.
