Sajid Nadiadwala has become
one of the most sought-after producers in Bollywood, especially among
the younger generation, due to the diverse films that he has presented
under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Besides
offering a
dream debut for Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon in Heropanti, he also
backed Highway that won Alia Bhatt critical acclaim. The spunky actress
followed it up with a hit in 2 States, co-starring Arjun Kapoor, which
was also produced by Sajid.
This year, the filmmaker has an eclectic line-up of movies. While Baaghi
featuring Tiger and Shraddha Kapoor, opens in cinemas this week,
Housefull 3 starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan,
Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri hits the screens in
June. Jacqueline will also be seen in Sajid's next production, Dishoom,
along with John Abraham and Varun Dhawan. The buddy cop film, helmed by
Rohit Dhawan, releases in July.
Gen-Next actors have often been overheard lauding the director-producer's vision for his movies. Tiger says, “Sajid saw something in me and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. I have troubled him a lot and he put up with me like I was his son.“ Echoing her co-debutant's sentiments, Kriti observes, “I was nervous at the start as I had no idea how the industry functions, but it was Sajid sir who mentored and guided me. Once you are with him, he feels very responsible for you.“
Shraddha, who worked with him for the first time in Baaghi, affirms, “He takes care of his actors' needs and also knows what is good for us.“
Talking about his marketing acumen, Varun says, “He has a definite vision on how he wants his films to be promoted. I'm looking forward to following his vision for the marketing of Dishoom too.“
Jacqueline, who worked with Sajid for the first time in Kick, which also marked his directorial debut, is all praises for him. “He is such a creative genius that he achieves what he has set his mind upon. He is multi-dimensional and dons every hat superbly,“ she signs off.
