"We have zeroed in on red, white and gold for the ceremony, which will be an intimate affair attended only by the couple's families and close friends," Shyamli reveals.
Point out that buzz is Sabyasachi has been entrusted with designing the bridal attire and the stylist says, "It's meant to be a surprise for both of them. They don't even know what the other is wearing although we have made sure that they are colour-coordinated."
Unlike most anxious brides-to-be, Bips was clear about what she wanted from the outset and planned everything personally, with some help from her team. "She's wearing the traditional red, white and gold colours but didn't want to look over-dressed so we researched just how much gold a Bengali bride is expected to wear. She was also particular about the shade of red," informs Shyamli, adding that Karan's outfit is also like that of a Bengali groom with a hint of western fusion so his personality is reflected through the look.
The wedding will be preceded by a mehendi ceremony on April 29, which will also double up as a sangeet with the couple's close friends putting up a musical performance. The decor and lighting will be gulabi pink.
Bipasha and Karan recently did a pre-wedding photoshoot based on a white wedding. "White weddings are a lot of fun so we decided to do a quick 45-minute shoot with Prasad Naik to go with the invites. Bipasha wore a Gauri and Nainika gown while Karan was suave in a tuxedo," says Shyamli, admitting that the last few days have been completely focussed on outfits trials, accessories, makeup and hair with all the looks finally locked last Sunday. "The wedding date wasn't set too long ago so we had to work real fast."
