After a fleeting appearance in Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet, Raveena Tandon returns to the silver screen with a full-fledged role and a social message. Titled Maatra the film deals with issues of violence against women and how to empower them.
Raveena informed Mirror, "I begin shooting on March 19 in a month-long start-to-finish schedule in North India. It's a realistic film which I accepted because of its message."
Meanwhile her film on Benazir Bhutto is on hold at the moment but Raveena assures that it will happen despite rumours that it has been shelved.
"We are waiting for permission from those associated with the late Prime Minister of Pakistan whose assassination shook the world because I don't believe in courting controversy. We don't want to hurt feelings," she explains.
