Raveena Tandon has always been candid about her views. Reports of her foraying into politics surfaced recently after she took on people in news channel debates who were talking about intolerance in India. She says, “I've been offered a seat in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha by various parties. It's an honour and privilege to play an active role in national politics. But currently, I'm busy with various projects. Now isn't the right time for me to venture into politics. Whenever I decide to do so, I want to give it my 100 per cent.“

The actress is looking forward to Shine On India, a new dance reality show, which she is judging with Govinda and Saroj Khan. She says, “Govinda and I would compete with each other and it would bring out the best in us. After hits like Dulhe Raja and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, this will be a good opportunity for us to reminisce about our work.“

Later, she has two films - Onir's Shab with newcomers Ashish Bist and Arpita and Ashtar Sayed's Maatr, which deals with violence against women. “Shab is an emotional story in which I play a high-society woman who is in a relationship with a younger man,“ she says. Talking about Matr, a social drama, she elaborates, “The script gives a sense of gratification as it shows how you can deal with criminals indulging in crime against women, while remaining on the right side of the law. As a society we need to change our laws to protect women.“
