Actors are known to alter their appearances to slip into their roles. And Shahid Kapoor is more methodical in his approach than most. For him, the transformation into his onscreen character is a meticulous process. It was no different while he was shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's Rangoon.

The actor underwent several makeovers for this period film, which is set against the backdrop of World War II, as the director wanted to see him in different getups. Since Shahid plays an army officer in this romantic drama, he put in a lot of time and effort to bring authenticity to his character. After Shaandaar, he experimented with long tresses, a beard and a moustache, then cut his hair short while retaining the facial fuzz, until Vishal finalised the cropped hair with mustachioed look. This is not the first time the Bollywood superstar has undergone a transformation for Bhardwaj. After sporting long hair and a chiselled physique for Kaminey, he surrendered to the filmmaker's vision and went bald for the National Award-winning Haider.

And now, he is turning heads with his dapper avatar for Rangoon. Shahid sure knows that half the battle is won when you nail the look. He's always bang on.
