Rana Daggubati quietly
turned 30 on Monday, busy with relief and rehab work for the
flood-affected in Chennai. He's been coordinating with actors in Tamil
Nadu, including Siddharth, RJ Balaji, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa, Vishal,
Arya and Karthik, along with several NGOs, to ensure that funds and
supplies are routed right. “I was in Chennai all this time. I flew in to
Hyderabad to bring in my birthday and fly back tomorrow,“ the actor
told Mirror.
Meanwhile, his grandiose sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion, kicks off today but Rana will only join the unit next year. “Bhallala Deva will be definitely cooler and more power hungry,“ he promises.
But before that, on January 10 2016, Rana is hoping to roll with a Hindi Telugu bilingual, Ghazi. He plays a naval officer in the period drama revolving around Pakistan navy's flagship ship, Ghazi, which sank near the eastern coast of India, en route to the Bay of Bengal, during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. “Since it's set in another decade, many things, including the language is different. There've been workshops with naval officers over the last fortnight. We are also building two new submarines since the original sank. There's a lot to look forward to in the New Year,“ he smiles.
