Mirror had earlier reported
(October 28) that TV actor Karanvir Bohra is co producing the Darr
remake, and will be portraying Shah Rukh Khan's obsessive character,
Rahul Mehra, with a twist. Now, a week before heading to Manali, the
violent love story has found its K...K..K.. Kiran.
Priya Banerjee, who was last seen as Shabana Azmi's teenage daughter in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback Bachchan's comeback vehicle Jazbaa, steps into Juhi Chawla's shoes.
“The 30-day schedule in Manali will be followed by an extensive schedule in Mumbai. We are currently in the process of casting the other characters,“ a source close to the development revealed, adding that the film's premise remains the same. The makers had reportedly wanted to buy the title 'Janam' from Mahesh Bhatt, who wrote and directed the movie in 1985, starring Kumar Gaurav. However, unsure of the kind of film the Darr remake would turn out to be, Bhatt refused to oblige.
Meanwhile, newbie Priya Banerjee has her hands full she will be seen in Ankoosh Bhatt's 3 Dev, a modern take on Rajiv Rai's 1989 action thriller Tridev, has replaced Akshara Haasan in Jaideep Chopra's upcoming sci-fi drama, The End, and has also signed a film with T-Series.
