Kriti Sanon on Manma Emotion Jaage, her song with Varun Dhawan, which releases today

The Dilwale love track featuring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will be unveiled today. Kriti reveals, “It’s called Manma Emotion Jaage and it’s a funky hip-hop, track with a Bhojpuri line in it. We shot this in Bulgaria.”
Kriti, a huge SRK-Kajol fan herself feels Manma Emotion... is their tribute to the evergreen Bollywood jodi. “I told Shah Rukh Sir that this is our way of saying Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” she laughs.
She adds that the song helped her bond with co-star Varun. “It was the first song we shot and I think we got more comfortable during the song shoot. Remo Sir choreographed it. Kriti confesses, “Varun had come on the sets after shooting ABCD 2 and by then, his film had released. I had watched his film and I was like, ‘How will I match up to him?’ Again, his energy is such that it makes you want to push yourself more and reach that level, at par with him. We had a lot of fun too. There were times when Remo sir left us with the crowd and told us ‘Freestyle dance karo abhi’. And I believe to do freestyle with someone, you have to be close to that person.” But shooting the song wasn’t as easy as it seemed to be. “We shot for it from morning to night.”
Is there added pressure to match up to the magical SKR-Kajol chemistry? Kriti doesn’t feel so. “We cannot compare. Their love story is so different. Theirs is more of an eternal, passionate love whereas ours is more like today’s generation’s — fun, simple. You can actually see that Pritamda has made separate zones of music for both the pairs. Even the music kind of defines the boundaries and helps people to make out the difference between the two love stories. The music he’s made for SRK-Kajol is completely different from what he’s made for me and Varun. It starts off with this song and then goes on to Premika (another song with Varun) later. Both of them are fun, fast numbers.”
