Swara Bhaskar’s Nil Battey Sannata was screened at the 2nd Silk Road International Film Festival in China. Swara, plays screen mom for the first time. Filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, who attended the festival, saw the movie and appreciated Swara’s performance. Swara says, “It was a really proud moment for India and Bollywood! The response has been very overwhelming. It was a powerful moment. Everyone in the theatre was moved. The Chinese audiences were in tears. An elderly lady just came and hugged me.”
