One of the cult romantic tracks of the 80s, Ae Mere Humsafar , that featured in the Aamir Khan-Juhi Chawla-starrer Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT), has been recreated for director Umesh Shukla's All Is Well. The new version will feature in a highlight scene in the family entertainer that has Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Asin and Supriya Pathak in the principle cast.

A source reveals that Umesh wanted a travel song and used the QSQT track as reference. But it fit so well that he wanted to retain it. As producer Bhushan Kumar has the music rights of the original track, he decided to get a new version. Composer Mithoon and singer Tulsi Kumar, who have previously collaborated for Mujhe Ishq Se (Yaariyan) and Naam-E-Wafa (Creature 3D), were brought on board. The number has been added as a background score in a crucial part in the film. Amitabh Verma has penned the additional lyrics in such a way that they blend with the story.

Tulsi says, “Ae Mere Humsafar is one of my favourite songs from the 80s, and I was quite excited when I heard that it was being recreated for All Is Well. The original number has a happy, romantic vibe to it. I met Mithoon for this song's sitting, and he briefed me about the situation and the change in lyrics. While recording, I was told to keep a smooth texture and give a surreal feel to it as demanded by the film's situation. After I delivered the song, I received a text from Umesh Shukla sir, which read 'Very well sung, no words, God bless'. For me this was the icing on the cake.“

All Is Well, produced by T Series and Allchemy Film Productions, releases August 21.
