T-Series has lost out on the music rights for Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Raees to Sony Music. The rights have been been bought by Sony Music for Rs 20 crores. An insider says that T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar had initially offered Rs 18 crores for the rights, but was willing to increase the amount. Still, he did not get the rights. Says the insider, “Last year, the label had the rights for both SRK’s Happy New Year and Salman Khan’s Kick. However, Bhushan had said that Kick’s music was a hit, while HNY’s was not! This miffed SRK. So, this time, the rights for Raees were sold to Sony Music.” Bhushan certainly paid the price for upsettting the Khan!
