We have learnt that Shekhar Ravjiani will be making his acting debut playing Neerja Bhanot's (Neerja is played by Sonam Kapoor) lover in the film. Neerja, a film based on the life of the PanAm airhostess Neerja Bhanot who died saving passengers from terrorists in 1986, is currently being shot. This braveheart started off as a model, post which she went on to having an arranged marriage that went sour and she then returned to live with her parents in Mumbai, when she got trained to become an airhostess. Neerja, at the time that this incident happened, was in love with a man in his late twenties, while she was just 23 when she died. Shekhar plays this man. We will need to see the film to tell whether it may have been Shekhar's good looks that appeal to women or his mature and assured sense of calm as a person that got him this role. But for now, we can only say that his casting seems to be interesting and unconventional.
